Keeps Tabs on Everything

  • Some ten years of experience with Track & Trace solutions worldwide
  • Established systems for machine-readable codes, serialization, and tracking and tracing
  • Track & Trace can be incorporated into new lines, retrofitted, or implemented as a standalone system – in Uhlmann lines as well as those from other manufacturers

Many countries have already adopted legislation and regulations on serialization; in others, implementation is pending. Uhlmann started to address such specifications back in 2005 and has meanwhile fitted a large number of packaging lines of various complexity with suitable systems. All requirements of the respective regulatory authorities are met – whether machine-readable codes, serialization, or tracking and tracing.

Suitable high-end components are needed to guarantee the necessary functionality of a Track & Trace solution. The Uhlmann portfolio includes different printing technology and label application options, intelligent OCR/OCV inspection systems as well as printing and marking systems. These standard components are combined to serve the respective needs and can be integrated into new as well as operating machines and lines – irrespective of whether they are from Uhlmann or other manufacturers. A standalone unit available in different variations complements the spectrum. The Uhlmann Serialization Platform offers options with modules for printing, inspection, weighing, and tamper-evident labeling. All components are integrated into the line so that its performance is scarcely influenced.

In the context of professional project management, the Track & Trace experts also ensure seamless connection to the respective company IT system and, if necessary, to an external database, such as the government databases in China or Turkey. The Track & Trace by Uhlmann solutions therefore cover the entire spectrum of specifications governing the pharmaceutical packaging process: integration of suitable hardware and software, line database solutions, and site management systems with defined interfaces to customer IT systems.
