Efficient pharmaceutical packaging does not just involve productive lines, but also demands appropriate support services and products – such as ServicePlus by Uhlmann. ServicePlus is based on combinable service modules. Every customer can select the appropriate combination to suit his needs. He chooses from the modules telephone hotline, remote service, on-site service, and spare parts availability, and decides which variation – basic, comfort, or premium – he needs for each of his modules. In the case of single-shift packaging on five days a week, for instance, the basic version of telephone hotline and remote service suffices. For three-shift operation, the premium version with 24/7 support and an extremely short service response within one hour is recommended. On this basis, a service package is tailored to suit the production process.

Also among the services exhibited at ACHEMA is ToolManagement by Uhlmann. Unrivaled in the pharmaceutical sector, this system simplifies the management of format parts and tools for all machines. Format parts are marked with 2D codes and format numbers. This allows unambiguous identification and allocation to the respective order using the ToolManagement System (TMS) software. This guarantees a transparent, end-to-end material flow between the stockroom, production line, and cleaning.

A section of the show booth is dedicated to the service portal of Excellence United. Using this online platform jointly operated by the four partner companies and Uhlmann, pharmaceutical manufacturers receive real-time support via multimedia-based, remote diagnosis. Examples of remote-controlled processes through the service portal will be demonstrated at ACHEMA on an Uhlmann Serialization Platform 1.
