The Blister line BEC 300 is geared to a maximum output of 300 blisters and 150 (optional 300) cartons per minute. The end-to-end blister line is of modular design: an integrated blister transfer allows the blister machine to pass the blisters to the cartoner module.
Feeders set the pace
A vibratory feeder, a brush box feeder, or the SimTap 3s c feeder set a high speed at the outset of the pharmaceutical packaging process. SimTap stands for “simultaneous tablet placement”: the products are placed directly in the blister pockets at high speed. A format changeover with the SimTap 3s c is also completed quickly: on the basis of stored parameters, many settings are readily available for a product changeover.
Straightforward operation of the packaging line
In addition to output, a focal aspect of the Blister line BEC 300 is its user-friendliness: the line is easy to clean, reset, and operate. For example, the rotary carton feeder is ergonomically positioned to allow an optimum working height. The few format parts are light in weight and can be exchanged quickly. This results in gained time, greater efficiency, higher productivity, and, in the end, lower follow-up costs. Particular importance is also attached to fast, GMP-compliant cleaning. Obvious features here are the fill section with its smooth surfaces and the cantilever design allowing good visibility.
Tool-free format changeover in less than 30 minutes
A short setup time is the key to high production output. In the case of the BEC 300, one operator can carry out a three-dimensional format changeover within 30 minutes. The small number of lightweight format parts, which can be exchanged without needing any tools, makes this possible. An operating system leads the operator step by step through the format changeover and also provides support during the production stage. This assistance is displayed on two SmartControl panels, each mounted on a pivoted support arm. Consequently, the operator is able to access information and instructions where needed at the line.
SmartControl operating system
The SmartControl operating system is an unparalleled human-machine interface with an exceptional graphical user interface. Continuous refinement ensures intuitive user guidance throughout the entire packaging process. Straightforward guidance through format changeovers and production processes, as well as the availability of illustrated explanations, mean that personnel from other machines only need a short familiarization period before operating the BEC 300.
Wide range of applications
The Blister line BEC 300 is able to package a wide range of solid dose formats. For example, a maximum blister forming depth of 12 mm is possible with PVC forming materials and 10 mm in the case of aluminum blisters without any output restrictions. Uhlmann also offers a solution for the packaging of very long products, such as caplets and capsules. The BEC 300 can package long solid dose products in pockets up to 40 mm in length.
It is also possible to realize a wide variety of carton sizes and formats on account of the maximum carton height of 100 mm. The BEC 300 is capable of packaging larger blister stacks, e.g. a 10-blister stack of standard capsules plus a booklet, in a carton.
