Uhlmann purchases Kekeisen site
The Uhlmann Group recently acquired the site of the company Th. Kekeisen GmbH & Co. KG in Laupheim. Kekeisen ceased operation in June. The buildings and land, which directly border on the Uhlmann site in Laupheim, will become the property of Uhlmann Group Holding GmbH & Co. KG at the beginning of 2021. The site covers an area of approximately 20,600 square meters and includes a production hall of some 6,100 square meters, as well as an office building with 1,800 square meters.
“Purchasing of the property enables us to extend our present company site. The direct access to the existing area allows us to set the stage for further development of our location in Laupheim”, explains Matthias Niemeyer, CEO of Uhlmann Group Holding and Uhlmann Pac-Systeme.
“Expansion of our administration space in Laupheim will already take place in the first quarter of 2021 with the move to our new office building. Acquisition of the Kekeisen property offers us the opportunity to also consider an extension of our production area at the headquarters”, adds Tim Slomp, CTO of Uhlmann Pac-Systeme. Specifically how the property will be used in the future is not yet certain. Various options are currently being reviewed. Settled is that F+B Maschinenservice GmbH, the company responsible for the servicing of Kekeisen machines, will use parts of the property for the next three years.
