Uhlmann Creates 200 New Jobs

Uhlmann Pac-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG reports positive news at the end of its business year 2015/2016: incoming orders are up by 18 percent. The company is planning 200 new jobs in the course of the current financial year, 100 of which at the headquarters in Laupheim, to help satisfy this strong demand for Uhlmann machines and services.

“The employment situation at Uhlmann is very good and the prospects even better”, says Norbert Gruber, CEO of the Uhlmann Executive Board. At the end of the business year 2015/2016 in June, Uhlmann recorded a stable turnover of EUR 292 million. The halls at Uhlmann will be well filled in the coming months: numerous pharmaceutical customers from around the world have commissioned Uhlmann to design and build new packaging lines. Incoming orders have increased by 18 percent. Norbert Gruber explains: “Uhlmann offers exactly the right packaging lines and appropriate services to meet the current challenges in the pharmaceutical markets. Our customers also confirmed this during conversations at our big in-house show ‘Pharmazing Days 2016’ held in April.”

New hall and new colleagues
Uhlmann has prepared itself optimally for future growth. The company inaugurated a new hall at its headquarters in Laupheim in April. The largest construction project in the history of the company provides an area covering approximately 10,700 square meters for incoming goods, warehouse, preassembly, and assembly.

Strengthening of the Uhlmann team to promote further corporate development is also planned. Two hundred new jobs, 100 of which in Laupheim, are to be created. “Quality ‘Made in Germany’ is important to us. That is why we are continuing to invest in our German base. At the same time, we want to be there where our customers operate. Our own newly established sales and services company in India is an example of such presence”, reports Uhlmann Managing Director Siegfried Drost.

The Uhlmann strategy for the future also includes the promotion of vocational training. The company will increase its number of traineeships to 100 by 2017. Furthermore, Uhlmann offers new as well as long-standing employees further training in the form of numerous seminars and courses.
