Uhlmann Pac-Systeme once again awarded TOP 100 certificate

Uhlmann Pac-Systeme has once again been awarded the TOP 100 certificate. This means that the company will continue to be one of Germany's most innovative medium-sized companies in 2026. Since 1993, compamedia has been awarding the certificate to medium-sized companies that stand out for their exceptional innovative achievements. Companies are honored in three size categories, and Uhlmann Pac-Systeme receives the innovation award in the largest category with over 200 employees. KOCH Pac-Systeme, another company in the Uhlmann Group, has also been awarded the TOP 100 certificate once again.
Innovative strength is never just a random product
For Uhlmann Pac-Systeme, implementing and developing an agile culture of innovation that leads to specific products and solutions for customers is a key part of its business strategy. The focus is on innovations and improvements that are tailored to customers, but also on making the work environment and culture of innovation better. “The company pursues a strictly mechatronic development approach geared towards the customer, consisting of a triad of mechanics, electrics, and digital solutions,” says Dr. Sebastian Koch, head of the patent department.
Uhlmann Pac-Systeme's long-term commitment to a culture of innovation and idea management is now paying off in the high quality and relevance of the ideas generated by its employees. Among other things, the award is the result of the dedication of many colleagues who are willing to think outside the box and take responsibility for implementation. “For us, innovation is not a random product, but the result of courage to change, creativity, and consistent implementation across different fields and all departments. In our idea and innovation management, we also consistently combine technological and process expertise to actively shape the future of the pharmaceutical packaging industry,” says Dr. Koch.
Award based on scientific criteria
The award is based on a scientific selection process in which the innovative strength of the participating companies is analyzed using more than 100 criteria divided into five categories: innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovation processes and organization, external orientation/open innovation, and innovation success. Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, Vienna University of Economics and Business, is responsible for evaluating the applications. The aim is to determine which companies' innovations are the result of structured innovation management and not just a matter of chance.
The award will be presented on June 26, 2026, at a ceremony during the German SME Summit hosted by Christian Wulff in Heidelberg. The former German president and prime minister of Lower Saxony is mentoring the TOP 100 innovation competition.
