The BEC 500 blister line has been designed so that even inexperienced operators can run the line:

The BEC 500 blister line reliably and quickly packs all common solid products in any batch size. This means that up to 500 blisters and 300 or 500 folding boxes can be packed per minute.

A format change on the BEC 500 can be completed in just 30 minutes. The few format parts are lightweight and can be easily replaced by a single person and without tools. The SmartControl operating system guides even inexperienced personnel step-by-step through format changeovers.

The BEC 500 is equipped with the SmartControl operating system. The unique HMI (Human Machine Interface) scores with a graphical user interface and guides operators step-by-step through individual processes in pharmaceutical packaging. The clearly structured layout means that even inexperienced personnel can quickly start working on the BEC 500 blister line.

The BEC 500 blister line can reliably package all common solid products and film types:

• For PVC blisters, the drawing depth is up to 12 mm, for aluminum blisters up to 11 mm.
• The maximum folding box sizes are (A x W x H) 105 x 105 x 155 mm at 300 folding boxes per minute and 80 x 90 x 155 mm at 500 folding boxes per minute. Therefore, a large variety of formats are provided for.
• The maximum number of blisters is 14 pieces per folding box.
• The BEC 500 achieves a speed of up to 300 folding boxes per minute at a maximum stack height of 95 mm, and up to 500 folding boxes per minute at a stack height of 85 mm.

The modular design consisting of feeder, blister module and cartoner module allows for customer-specific machine configurations. The Blister Express Center (BEC) 500 can be expanded at any time or combined with another cartoner – in other words, a true all-rounder.

Like all Uhlmann components, the BEC 500 blister line can be easily integrated into new or existing IT environments. Thus, integration into the "Track & Trace" solutions from Uhlmann or other manufacturers is just as possible as into the fully automated digital processes of a Production 4.0. The Pexcite open software platform is available to pharmaceutical manufacturers for solving complex digital requirements. Pexcite has a wide range of functions and flexibly networks machines and equipment along the entire pharmaceutical value chain, regardless of manufacturer.

Track & Trace can be integrated into the BEC 500 – either by Uhlmann or a third-party supplier. There is sufficient space in the cartoner for installing hardware such as camera and printing systems. The hardware can be supplemented by our in-house developed software solutions for Track & Trace – for a seamless system from a single source.

Rotary roller sealing can basically be used for all film types and efficiently and reliably seals standard blisters with round tablets or capsules, for example. It is also suitable for aluminum blisters with a pocket length of up to 29 mm. It has a cooled feed roller, which allows film shrinkage to be minimized – for optimum sealing results that are gentle on the product. An optional cover film preheater allows peel-push films to be processed.

Intermittent plate sealing with a horizontal film run delivers optimum results even with larger aluminum pockets or calendar packs. It is also suitable for special cover films and for peel and peel-push blisters. In this case, sealing takes place with a constant sealing time regardless of the number of cycles. The sealing tool is precisely positioned by means of a laser control of the pockets.

The blister machine and cartoner of the BEC 500 can be fitted extremely flexibly into the layout of your site – either linearly, offset laterally or at an angle. Installation in two rooms or separated by a pharmaceutical wall is also possible.

The BEC 500 can be equipped with all Uhlmann solid feeders: vibratory feeder, brush-in feeder or SimTap. It is also possible to install multiple feeders. For special requirements, we can work with you to find a customized feeding solution.

Thanks to its modular design, it can be linked to other Uhlmann cartoners at any time.

Yes. On the Blister Express Center (BEC) 500, easily recyclable monomaterials such as polypropylene as well as films made from renewable raw materials, for example PLA, can be processed reliably and efficiently.
