Our sustainability strategy: Clear guidance for everyone
Our sustainability strategy: Clear guidance for everyone
The Uhlmann Group – and therefore also Uhlmann Pac-Systeme – has come together to develop a sustainability and climate strategy. The time frame up to the 2024/2025 business year for the sustainability strategy and up to 2030 for the climate strategy gives all managers and staff clear guidance, as well as providing the company and all stakeholders with a binding framework for sustainable development. This is based on our vision, mission and purpose.
Our sustainability strategy in detail
Uhlmann focuses its sustainability management processes on the issues that are most important to our stakeholders and shareholders. To identify these issues, we performed a materiality analysis, which was updated during the 2021/2022 business year. The results of this analysis led to our sustainability strategy, which is split into five areas of action containing a total of 14 different issues. These are reflected in our sustainability strategy, where they are assigned initiatives and goals.

Our Sustainability Report
The Uhlmann Sustainability Report provides a summary of the main environmental, societal and social issues in the 2021/2022 business year. It was prepared in line with the criteria of the German Sustainability Index (DNK) and references the GRI Standards specified in the Index. Its scope has been extended compared to the previous year, with Uhlmann's production site in Singapore being included for the first time.
Sustainability initiatives and ratings
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) | The CDP is a non-profit organization that operates a global reporting system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to record their environmental impact. Since 2021, Uhlmann has reported emissions data annually via this platform and has undergone its rating. The result is included in our sustainability report. |
EcoVadis | The EcoVadis rating covers a wide range of non-financial management systems, including environmental impact, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Each company is assessed against the issues relevant to its size, location and industry. In December 2022, Uhlmann achieved a gold medal in the EcoVadis rating. |
IntegrityNext | IntegrityNext provides companies with a platform for ESG risk management that helps them to make their supply chains more sustainable and to meet legal ESG requirements. Uhlmann has been using IntegrityNext since 2021. |
Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) | The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) promotes climate protection initiatives in the private sector by enabling organizations to define science-based emission reduction targets. The SBTi is a partnership between the CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Uhlmann has been a member of the SBTi since July 2022. |
UN Global Compact | The United Nations Global Compact is the world's largest and most important initiative for sustainable and responsible business management. The UN Global Compact Network Germany, with more than 800 participants from business, civil society and politics, helps companies to enshrine sustainability in their strategy and to play a role in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals on the basis of the ten principles. When Uhlmann joined the United Nations Global Compact back in 2019, it committed itself to abiding by the ten principles, making globalization more social and environmentally friendly. |
