BEC 300

The Blister Express Center (BEC) 300 packs tablets, capsules and other solids at a maximum speed of up to 300 blisters and up to 150 (optionally 300) folding boxes per minute.

The BEC 300 pharmaceutical-grade blister line focuses on user-friendliness meaning that it can also be operated by inexperienced personnel:

• The system is easy to clean, retool and operate.
• The few format parts are lightweight and allow quick changeover.
• The operating system guides operators through format changeovers and provides support during operation.
• The rotary folding box feeder is designed for ergonomic operation thanks to the optimum working height.
• Smooth surfaces and the easily visible balcony design enable fast, GMP-compliant cleaning without lengthy downtimes.

For fast ramp-up and high process reliability, Uhlmann also offers customized training for operating and maintenance personnel.

A format change can be performed on the BEC 300 within 30 minutes by one person. The short changeover time is made possible by a small number of lightweight format parts that can be replaced without tools. The SmartControl operating system guides even inexperienced operators step-by-step through the format changeover and supports them during the production phase.

The SmartControl operating system is a unique HMI (Human Machine Interface) with an exceptional graphical user interface. The intuitive user guidance and clearly structured layout also help operators with little experience to quickly familiarize themselves with the pharmaceutical-grade blister line.

The Blister Express Center (BEC) 300 can be used to package a wide range of solid formats:

• With the forming film, draw depths of 12 mm for PVC blisters and 10 mm for aluminum blisters can be implmented without any performance restrictions.
• Large tablets such as oblongs or capsules can be deposited in pockets up to 40 mm long. The BEC 200, the BEC 400, the BEC 500 and the BEC 700 with plate sealing are available for large-format solid products in aluminum/aluminum blisters.
• Thanks to a maximum folding box height of 100 mm, a wide variety of folding box sizes or formats can be implemented.
• The BEC 300 also packs larger blister stacks, for example a stack of 10 standard capsules including brochure, into a folding box.

The two-part design of the BEC 300 enables customer-specific machine configuration. For example, the line can be divided by a pharmaceutical wall or the blister module can be combined with other cartoners. L-shaped installation is also possible.

Like all Uhlmann components, the BEC 300 blister line can be integrated into existing or new IT environments. This applies to "Track & Trace" solutions from Uhlmann or other manufacturers as well as to the fully automated, digital processes of Production 4.0. For the solution of complex, digital requirements, Uhlmann offers the unique, open software platform Pexcite. With its diverse functions, it flexibly networks machines and equipment along the entire pharmaceutical value chain, regardless of manufacturer.

The BEC 300 is ideally suited as the basis of a containment blister line and can be expanded accordingly:

• Innovative Air Management Unit with different air pressure zones: negative pressure for personal protection, positive pressure for product protection – both are also possible.
• All internal areas of the BEC 300 are easy to clean thanks to smooth, sloping surfaces. 
• Few, small and light format parts can be easily fed in and out and enable efficient product changeovers.

The pharmaceutical-grade BEC 300 blister line is designed to process easily recyclable monomaterials such as polypropylene as well as films made from renewable raw materials, for example PLA, reliably and efficiently. When purchasing a BEC 300, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturers invest in a stable packaging line that will remain with them for decades, for example through comprehensive upgrades and further services from Uhlmann.

The BEC 300 is very flexible in terms of installation in the production room. The blister machine and the cartoner can be set up in a straight line, offset or at an angle to each other. The blister and artooning module can be separated by a pharmaceutical wall or can be set up in different rooms. The cartoner of the BEC 300 offers enough space to integrate camera and printing systems. This makes it easy to equip the line with hardware for Track & Trace. Uhlmann also offers in-house developed software solutions for Track & Trace.

The BEC 300 blister line can be combined with all standard feeders from Uhlmann (vibratory feeder, brush-in feeder or SimTap feeder). It is also possible to equip the machine with several feeders. If your requirements cannot be met by any particular standard, Uhlmann's experts will support you with a customized feeder.
